She is a sculptor whose medium is clay and found objects. Most of her works deal with the human figure, many conveying pathos and emotion. Other of her works however are pure abstract forms derived from nature.<BR/><BR/>Van Duyn earned a BFA at the State University of New York at Purchase. She studied further at the Silvermine Artists Guild in Connecticut, worked with Larry Rivers and Eric Fischl at the Master Workshop in Art at South Hampton, N.Y., and has studied with Sandra Graf, Andrew Lewis and Scott Tubby.
